Cultural competencies gives you an overview of minority ethnic groups in Portsmouth. It explores what culture is and develops participants' cultural competencies. The course also looks at barriers that minority ethnic groups face when accessing services and how they can be overcome.

 

Target audience

The course is aimed at any one, professionals and volunteers who would like to develop their practice in working with Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups in Portsmouth.

Code: PCC/22/26 First Aid at Work (3 days) (Rescheduled from 29th March) (EVENT FULL)

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course will alow delegates to act as a qualified first aider in the work place. This course will give delegates the Level 3 First at Work qualification, accredited by Qualsafe awards.

There is no need to attend Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) before attending this course. If you already hold the EFAW qualification, please contact the administrator of the course before booking.

If you are already FAW qualified and need to requalify please look for the First Aid at Work Requalification course. This is a two day course open to people who are appoaching the end of their three year FAW qualification.

Learning outcomes.

Over two sessions or as one full session the course will look at supporting Carers to be better able to minimise the impact of Fostering on the quality of life of their whole family.

Looking at examples of how foster carers’ family’s needs for on-going support are met.
• Engaging foster carers’ children and other family members in the fostering process.
• Ensuring foster carers’ family are well informed.
• Protected parenting time for carers’ children
Training for other family members.

The course will be delivered via ZOOM using methods including group discussion, sharing good practice and some short groupwork tasks.

The Primary RE Network, led by Justine Ball, RE Adviser for HIAS, provides opportunities to collaborate and share good practice with other RE leads across the city.

This event will build upon previous sessions and the implementation of the R.E. agreed syllabus Living Difference IV and current developments in Religious Education.

The focus will be assessment and so please could delegates send in one piece of RE work that they are pleased with (for whatever reason), that we can use together. Please can you email this at the latest by the day before the meeting so that it can be included in the PowerPoint which will be emailed to you ahead of the meeting.
