A 2 - 3hr course to update Local Back Care Links in relation to knowledge to undertake their role

Reflecting on the content of the original 2 day Local Back Care Link course, the trainer aims to provide an interactive session exploring updates in theory.  This is to enable the link to do detailed manual handling risk assessment and to facilitate staff completing the handling of people refresher workbook

By the end of the session you will have:

• Focusing on the handling of people, reviewed the manual handling legislation and literature that influences manual handling practice


• Discussed the physical and psychological risk factors that can affect employees moving loads safely.


• Explored the manual handling risk assessment process


• Discussed any manual handling problems in your workplace and where appropriate undertaken a manual handling risk assessment to identify any strategies that could reduce risk


• Discussed the systems in place to support your role


• Discussed the process of facilitating staff to complete the handling of people refresher workbook
